Matchmove is a technique of estimating camera parameters from an input video sequence so that computer generated imagery (CGI) could be seamlessly inserted into the sequence. Generally, it can be done through camera calibration techniques or structure-from-motion methods.
The algorithm includes several steps: 1) track 2D points in live footage, 2) calibrate and track camera, 3) create 3D coordinate frame, 3) export those parameters and motion path into software. In this project, those effects were created in Adobe After Effects.
